Cooking and Baking in Colorado
Cooking in Colorado can be an adventure.
Our altitude can present some challenges to cooking and baking. Water boils at a lower temperature and adjustments have to be made to many baking recipes. See my tips on baking at altitude.
To get the most out of your seasonal Colorado produce, see my seasonal recipes and preserving and food storage posts. These are especially helpful if you are a member of a CSA, and are wondering what to do with all of that produce you got this week.
If you’re concerned about the environment, and the impact that cooking has on it, you may be interested in learning about solar cooking, a technique that can be quite successful in our sunny climate.
I am adding more recipes all the time. But if you are looking for a recipe that uses a specific vegetable, and are having a hard time finding a recipe you like, drop me a line and I’ll post something on the site.
